Medicare Coverage
Understand what mobility equipment Medicare covers. Part B DME coverage, documentation requirements, costs, and tips for getting claims approved.
Medicare Part B covers mobility equipment classified as durable medical equipment (DME) when it is medically necessary for use in your home. This includes walkers, rollators, manual and power wheelchairs, and mobility scooters (with additional requirements). Medicare typically pays 80% of the approved amount after your annual Part B deductible.
Our Medicare guides explain coverage rules for each equipment type, walk you through the documentation and prescription requirements, and share practical tips for getting your claim approved on the first attempt — including common mistakes that lead to denials.
